Our position on GDPR

From time to time, CaptionHub will email prospective customers who have been identified to be users of CaptionHub partner technology or in an accessibility regulated region where captions are a regulated requirement for multimedia content. If you believe you have received an email in error, then please get in touch and we'll immediately remove you from our records. The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) enables CaptionHub to send business-to-business marketing emails without consent, provided there is an option to unsubscribe in every email. The lawful basis for this under the UK GDPR is legitimate interest.

Anyone using an individual email address and also sole traders and certain partnerships will be considered consumers for the purposes of PECR. This means that we will not send any marketing emails to personal email addresses unless you have:

1. provided prior consent and given an opportunity to unsubscribe in every email, and there is relevant basis under the UK GDPR
2. without consent, if you previously made a purchase from you and consented to receive marketing emails

Additionally, Captionhub will only send marketing emails to CaptionHub users if consent has been expressly given.
